The St. Augustine Pool scandal
On June 18, 1964 Martin Luther King was planning a protest with its partners; they would swim against the rules in a pool, were admitted to the only white citizens. To force the protesters out of the pool, hotel owners James Brock was hydrochloric acid into the pool.
They were then taken into bathing suits from the pool and taken to prison, where they were denied due to lack of clothing the food. Although many factors helped against discrimination, manages to capture the horror and cruelty of segregation this photo.
